A little about the position:
Job Summary
The Benefits Manager is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s benefits strategy to attract, retain, and engage top talent. This role partners closely with stakeholders to ensure benefits programs align with business objectives, support workforce well-being, and reinforce the company’s employer value proposition. The position requires a forward-thinking approach to plan design, cost optimization, and compliance, while driving innovation and enhancing the employee experience.
 
Some of What You Will Do:
Strategic Leadership & Program Design 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive U.S. benefits strategy that aligns with organizational goals and total rewards philosophy.
  • Proactively partner with brokers and carriers to anticipate market trends and workforce needs to recommend innovative, competitive, and cost-effective benefits solutions.
  • Influence senior leadership on benefits priorities and investment decisions through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations. 
  • Use data analytics to assess program effectiveness, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Benchmark against industry standards and recommend enhancements to maintain competitive positioning.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization and adoption of best practices.
 
Governance & Risk Management
  • Ensure full compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee governance of benefit plans, including fiduciary responsibilities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead audits and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory filings (e.g., Form 5500) and maintain accurate plan documentation.
Vendor & Financial Stewardship 
  • Build strategic partnerships with carriers, brokers, and consultants to optimize plan performance and service delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to achieve cost savings and enhance value.
  • Monitor benefits spend and forecast future costs to support budgeting and financial planning.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure service-level agreements are met.
Employee Experience & Engagement 
  • Design and execute communication strategies that clearly articulate the value of benefits programs to a technologically diverse employee population.
  • Champion initiatives that improve employee well-being, engagement, and understanding of benefits offerings.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
  • 7+ years of benefits experience.
  • Experience managing benefits for a predominately manufacturing workforce; public company experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills required, including being able to hold meetings and perform training in small and large groups - strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; HRIS and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Physical: Ability to stay in a sitting position for most of the working day while looking at a computer monitor.
  • Travel: Travel throughout the US 4+ times annually or as needed; Other travel as required

Status: Full-time
Salary Range:   $95,000-$145,000
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across US geographic markets.  Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
Bonus: MIB-Tier 3 - 10% of base pay
 
Other: No relocation packages or visa sponsorship offered.
