Director, Professional Services
Description
We are seeking a strategic, customer-focused Director of Professional Services to lead and scale our services organization. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of implementation, consulting, and customer success services to ensure customers achieve meaningful, long-term value from our software solutions.
This position requires a balance of operational leadership, customer engagement, and team development experience. You will play a key role in driving consistent, high-quality service delivery while supporting organizational growth.
Location:
- Hybrid: Three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) in office in Long Beach, CA.
- Remote work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the vision, strategy, and operating model for the Professional Services organization
- Build, mentor, and support high-performing teams across implementation, consulting, and technical delivery
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure alignment with company goals and growth initiatives
- Establish scalable processes, methodologies, and best practices to support service delivery
Service Delivery Excellence
- Oversee customer implementations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with agreed expectations
- Develop and maintain delivery frameworks, tools, and governance models
- Monitor project health, identify potential risks, and guide teams to successful outcomes
- Align pre-sales commitments with delivery execution to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Manage project prioritization based on demand and available capacity
Financial & Resource Management
- Monitor and guide team utilization to support business objectives
- Forecast services revenue and manage resource planning to meet demand
- Ensure delivery efficiency while maintaining high-quality outcomes
Operational Excellence
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team and project performance
- Drive continuous improvement through feedback, metrics, and post-project insights
- Promote operational efficiency across distributed or cross-functional teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales to support deal strategy, project scoping, and solution design
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to share customer insights and inform product direction
- Work with HR and Talent teams to recruit, onboard, and develop top talent
About You - Essential Qualifications:
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Professional Services, Consulting, or Customer Delivery roles within a software or SaaS company
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers
- Proven track record of scaling a services organization in a high-growth environment
- Experience managing forecasting, revenue recognition and operating a services business
Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of software implementation methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
- Deep experience in enterprise software delivery and customer engagement
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Experience in SaaS, cloud, or enterprise application platforms
- Familiarity with PSA tools, CRM systems, and project management platforms
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
The salary range varies, and pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, certifications (if applicable), candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and years of experience amongst other factors.
- Salary range: $170,000 - $250,000
