The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory records. This role involves conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, maintaining inventory databases, and supporting warehouse operations through detailed analysis and problem resolution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Conduct research on post-cycle count variances and determine root causes.
  • Process Co/Div transfers and research shipping variances.
  • Investigate and resolve order fulfillment and wave shortages.
  • Maintain and analyze reports for item dimension and weight discrepancies.
  • Process and ship Return to Vendor (RTV) requests.
  • Execute SKU changes and price point conversions.
  • Generate and analyze Cognos and SKU velocity reports.
  • Assist in SKU slotting execution and warehouse location utilization analysis.
  • Maintain item master data and process location cancellations.
  • Investigate and resolve receiving department discrepancy audits.
  • Correct wrong putaway types and resolve duplicate active locations.
  • Research and resolve store and e-commerce return issues.
  • Manage active and reserve location maintenance.
  • Research and resolve negative inventory balances and aging reports.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and management.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
Required Abilities: 
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and management.
  • Work efficiently within a team-oriented environment.
  • Read and write English proficiently.
  • Perform basic math calculations, including measurements.
  • Utilize basic hand tools as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures, including safe lifting techniques.
  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as burden carriers, order pickers, and reach trucks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Minimum of one year experience in Inventory Control required, with an emphasis on inventory and quality control in a high-volume fulfillment center environment.
  • Experience with Manhattan Associates warehouse software (WM, Slot Optimization, DOM).
    Equipment Requirements:  

    Ability to obtain and maintain training certification for operating MHE, including burden carriers, order pickers, and reach trucks.

    Physical Requirements:  

    • Regular on-site attendance is required.
    • Ability to work overtime as needed.
    • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds continuously.
    • Willingness to work in extreme temperature environments for extended periods.
