A Sales Solution Consultant for a Human Capital Management (HCM) software company 
serves as the technical, functional, and strategic expert during the sales process. They bridge the gap between complex HR technology capabilities and the prospect's business needs, typically partnering with Account Executives to deliver tailored demonstrations, handle technical objections, and prove the ROI of the software.  
Job Summary
The HCM Solution Consultant provides deep functional expertise in areas such as Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Timekeeping, and HR analytics. They are responsible for demonstrating how the software solves specific workforce management challenges to HR leaders and C-Suite executives.  
Core Responsibilities
  • Discovery & Solution Mapping:Participate in discovery sessions to uncover client pain points, workflows, and goals; translate these into tailored, high-value product demonstrations. 
  • Product Demonstrations: Deliver compelling, tailored software presentations, workshops, and webinars that show functionality from the user's perspective. 
  • Technical Sales Support: Act as the primary technical resource, answering application-specific questions, assisting in RFI/RFP responses, and managing proof-of-concept (POC) builds. 
  • Value-Based Selling: Build business cases and demonstrate ROI to prospective customers, focusing on how the solution improves workforce productivity and compliance. 
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with sales, product management, and marketing teams to shape proposals, refine sales strategies, and provide feedback on market demand. 
  • Sales Cycle Management: Work closely with sales reps to identify and remove technical barriers to closing deals.  
Key Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years in a pre-sales, solution consulting, or implementation role, preferably within the HCM or SaaS software industry. 
  • Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of HCM processes (Payroll, Benefits, Onboarding, Talent Management, Compliance). 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SaaS platforms and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Ceridian, UKG, ADP, Oracle). 
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence C-Level executives (specifically CHROs). 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

  • Travel: Ability to travel for onsite client meetings (often up to 50%).
