Who We’re Looking For:
Laborie Medical Technologies is currently searching for a Technical Writer to assist in maintaining optimal Technical Documentation Group (TDG) processes, implement project-specific strategies, and assist with the development and implementation of department strategies to increase productivity and quality. This position will also participate on cross-functional project teams through researching, planning, organizing, and developing technical product literature (such as User and Service Manuals, IFUs, and Quick Start Guides) Laborie Capital Equipment systems.
How you contribute:
- Provide consultation on publication projects.
- Review technical literature prepared by other staff members for content, coverage, and clarity.
- Research products by studying the product specifications, interviewing subject matters experts, and using prototype hardware and software.
- Plan, write, and edit the development of capital equipment product literature in the appropriate timeframes for product launch and in compliance with company operating procedures and work instructions.
- Edit documents, making technical and stylistically appropriate modifications.
- Collaborate with development engineering, marketing, regulatory affairs, and clinical engineering personnel, among others, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications Required:
- BS or BA degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a technical field with coursework in technical writing, and a minimum of 2 years of technical writing experience in the medical device industry.
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely and recognize and correct errors, gaps, and other limitations in written documentation.
- Project management experience, specifically the ability to prioritize/manage multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes with short or changing deadlines.
- Advanced computer skills including MS office or equivalent and proficient in Adobe tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
- Proficient at using InDesign in creation of Owners Manuals, IFUs, Quick Guides, and labels.
- Experience with translation projects and working within an international organization and working with complex hardware and software systems and engineering teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable worldwide regulations and company operating procedures, processes and policies and knowledge of medical device regulations as they relate to labeling requirements.
- Experience managing vendor relationships.
