What We Need 
Kymeta has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Accounting Manager within our Accounting TeamThe Accounting Manager will report to the VP of Finance and be responsible for key accounting functions, management of accounting processes and controls, and ensure completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reporting on a timely basis and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesThe Accounting Manager will engage with key vendor partners including external auditors and third-party tax professionals. 
  
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, advanced excel skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working with multiple cross functional teamsIn addition, the candidate will have a proven track record of developing strong working relationships with cross-functional partners and various levels of senior leadership. 
  
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days in the office.   
  
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Oversee and manage the team and general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, lease accounting, payroll, compliance and income and payroll taxes.   
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Consolidated Financial Statements ensuring all deadlines are met and statements are prepared in accordance with accepted accounting principles and industry standards.  
  • Manage and serve as back-up to biweekly and semi-monthly payroll processes, reporting and funding of benefits. Resolve federal and state payroll tax notifications.  
  • Manage and review monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts such as prepaids, accruals, and intercompany transactions.  
  • Manage and prepare submissions of local, state, and federal tax and compliance filings within prescribed deadlines.   
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.  
  • Ensure efficient, effective execution of transactions and compliance with the company’s policies in these areas. 
  • Support the external auditor’s annual audit. 
  • Provide cross-training and serve as backup support for other roles as needed.   
  • Interface with other departments to verify transaction data and resolve any issues. 
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including conducting performance evaluations, provide cross-training of staff, and support professional development.   
  • Ensure accounting systems and business tools are maintained and provide recommendations for enhancements to create efficiencies and process improvements.   
  • Ad hoc accounting and finance projects and other duties as assigned.  
  
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role  
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.  
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software with experience in Oracle Fusion is a plus.  
  • Experience with processing and managing payroll is a plus.  
  • Advanced Excel skills using Pivot tables, X-lookups, and V-lookups.  
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.  
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with all levels within an organization.   
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities 
  
EDUCATION 
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.  
  • Preferred CPA or CMA.  
  
COMPENSATION 
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $120,000 - $165,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
