What We Need 
Kymeta is looking for a Senior Program Manager with a strong software background, to support our Client Software team. You will be responsible for understanding which features need to be done and the priority of that work. You will also organize the implementation of that work for highly complex embedded Linux applications to enable our next generation satellite antennaThe successful candidate will play a key role in a truly world-class, multidisciplinary team that’s reinventing satellite communications technology to provide the next generation of mobile connectivity. 
  
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Cross-functional program leadership to manage all software releases, working closely with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, other Program Managers, and all other key stakeholders 
  • Work with New Product Development (NPI) Program Manager(s) to provide reporting of workstream progress 
  • Participates in triage meetings and drives prioritization, scheduling and resolution of defects along with Product Management and Engineering lead 
  • Act as a driving force for definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility 
  • Lead risk management processes and mitigations 
  • Manage program budget creation, tracking, and budget exceptions 
  • Ensure steady progress of tasks and identifying and removing stalled or blocked items 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and executive summaries 
  • Report to management with detailed status updates and estimation tracking on project deliverables and escalate to management as needed 
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects 
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget 
  
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • 8+ years of experience in a job as a project lead, product owner, engineering project manager for software or software team manager, preference for embedded systems development 
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer or similar hands-on technical role 
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira or similar project management software 
  • Proven ability to successfully manage large scale projects and teams that deliver new products to market on schedule and within budget constraints 
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across engineering disciplines, and particularly in software development 
  • Ability to understand complex technical product from a software perspective that interacts with multiple engineering disciplines (including manufacturing, systems, mechanical, RF engineering) 
  • Comfortable and accurate in presenting plans and status to Senior Executives 
  • Ability to collaborate with product and business development teams, and lead technical teams to structure technology development efforts to meet customer requirements 
  • Skills to create and maintain project schedules in Microsoft Project, monitor project team progress and adjust as required to assess risks and control scope 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired 
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team, preferably in the field of communications engineering, and embedded Linux applications with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle desired 
  
EDUCATION 
  • Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, Mathematics or related field   
  
COMPENSATION 
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $120,000 - $200,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
