What We Need
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior RF Electrical Engineer with a BSEE and 12+ years of relevant experience, or an MSEE with 10+ years of experience, focused on the design and development of advanced high-speed electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in multi-gigahertz RF and digital communications systems, along with a proven track record of successfully transitioning R&D concepts into production-ready products. Strong hands-on experience with electronic test equipment—including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, power meters, and signal generators—is required to support design verification and troubleshooting activities. Candidates should also be proficient with CAD tools for schematic capture, circuit simulation, and high-speed signal integrity analysis. Experience within the satellite communications, telecommunications, or consumer electronics industries is strongly preferred.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Design, analyze & debug electronic components, assemblies and systems to meet performance, functional and cost goals as required.
Create design specifications for electronic and/or electromechanical mechanical components, assemblies and systems as required.
Create and provide detailed schematic design documents and information for placement and layout.
Develop test and assembly fixtures and procedures for RF, electronic and mechanical components, assemblies and systems as required.
Perform initial board bring up, verification and test of electronic assemblies and systems.
Serve as a lead electrical engineer on internal programs or projects. Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers on daily engineering tasks.
Oversee PCB design, FPGA implementation and lab prototypes.
Assist in customer related technical problems and training when necessary.
Train engineering & production staff on assembly, test and design procedures as required.
Work closely with outside part and service vendors to facilitate planning, design, development, and formal test of systems in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience designing or working with satellite RF/digital communication systems, especially modems, RF circuits, ruggedized oscillators and GNSS systems is required.
Requisite experience in analog/RF/digital electronic circuit and systems design in a product development environment.
Experience with board level RF and high-speed mixed signal control systems design and integration.
Knowledge of discrete signal sampling theory, ADCs, DACs, digital filters and other DSP theories.
Proficiency in MATLAB®simulation, modeling and test benches are desirable.
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Extensive experience with system integration and testing of RF and analog hardware designs.
Experience leading a project or small, cross-functional team of engineers with proven results.
Experience with circuit design to meet automotive, FCC part 15, UL safety compliance, and additional government certifications.
Experience with creating and implementing make/buy strategies and supplier engagement for contract manufacturing is desirable.
Hands-on experience with customer training and engagement is desirable.
Additional experience in embedded and wireless communication systems is highly desirable.
Experience creating products or designs for regulated industries such as commercial aviation, automobile or government is desirable.
