While our headquarters is in Indianapolis, this role offers the flexibility to work remotely, allowing you to contribute to our success from anywhere with reliable internet access.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced tax technology solutions, including tax software and automation systems, to optimize tax functions and enhance efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and project execution, leveraging innovative techniques to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
  • Manage end-to-end tax technology projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to project plans, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop comprehensive project charters and detailed timelines, ensuring that all key milestones and deliverables are clearly defined and met.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of tax technology with existing systems and processes, particularly during mergers and acquisitions, to support smooth transitions and operational continuity.
  • Oversee the integration of tax technology systems from acquired companies, aligning them with the existing framework to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT, tax departments, and other stakeholders to coordinate technology initiatives, address challenges, and implement effective solutions.
  • Partner with Learning and Development to design and deliver training programs, ensuring tax team members are proficient in utilizing tax technology tools and systems.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend innovative technology solutions to enhance tax processes, improve compliance, and drive operational excellence.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the tax department through the strategic application of technology.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax technology solutions and services.
  • Ensure effective collaboration in a remote work environment, leveraging technology for communication and project management.
  • Travel as needed for in-person meetings, vendor visits, or company events related to tax technology and acquisitions. 
Requirements/Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax public accounting, with experience on technology and process improvement.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to take ownership of initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in tax software and technology solutions (e.g., tax preparation software, ERP systems, data analytics tools).
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced and complex environment
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of managing several projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in training others on software systems and operations processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
