Email Security Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Email Security Engineer to join our IT Team. The Email Security Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and implementation of IT security processes and procedures related to email systems. This individual must be well-versed in understanding the information technology landscape, including security, infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards, and trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply expertise in information security and protection systems to eliminate or reduce unauthorized disclosure or destruction of data.
- Assist with the investigation of technology security incidents.
- Contribute to the overall security posture of the organization.
- Monitor and maintain the Security team’s ticketing systems, Microsoft alerts, security infrastructure consoles.
- Implement security IOC’s (Indicators of Compromise).
- Handle tickets, upgrade security software, and other security controls as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity.
- Or 5+ Years Experience in related field.
- Microsoft Certifications a plus.
- Proven experience in IT security, particularly with email systems.
- Strong understanding of common social engineering, phishing techniques and safeguards
- Ability to create policies and procedures; set up controls around passwords, email, and software updates.
- Experience in conducting tests to see how effective defenses truly are.

- Email Exchange Administration
- Email Filtering experience
- Microsoft Exchange Security – Exchange Online Protection
- Microsoft E5 Security Suite
- Email Hygiene products, i.e.: Abnormal, Proofpoint. Mimecast
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Items:
- The position may frequently require longer hours than the normal work week.
- Must be able to respond to security incidents and be on-call as needed.
- Be available for evening and weekend work if demands deem necessary; being available by cell phone or another mobile device is required.
