Project Assistant

Paralegal Services Atlanta, Georgia

King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, currently seeks a Project Assistant to join our Corporate Finance & Investments practice in Atlanta.  The Project Assistant will perform a variety of duties to assist paralegals and attorneys in Atlanta’s Corporate group.  The Project Assistant will report to the Director of Administration.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain case files, pleadings, attorney notebooks, reports, and witness statements.
  • Follow established client and team guidelines for case and matter management.
  • Keep accurate time records.
  • Work efficiently in a heavily computer-based environment.
  • Strong, concise oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks under strict time constraints.

Specific duties would consist of the following:

  • Provide general paralegal support to the CFI – Corporate team.
  • Submit corporate filings, including formations, incorporations, dissolutions, qualifications, name changes, assumed names, reinstatements, etc.
  • Prepare signing and/or closing binders, documents, and indexes. 
  • Order lien searches and prepare summary memos of search results.  
  • Prepare and print stock certificates.
  • Coordinate with vendors to determine requirements for various types of corporate filings.
  • Apply for Employer Identification Numbers (EINs).
  • Apply for EDGAR access using form documents and power of attorneys

Successful candidates are detail-oriented, efficient and have the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high volume environment. Candidates should have well-developed Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Excel proficiency and demonstrate the ability to problem solve and communicate with all levels of personnel.  Candidates should have the ability to fulfill a two-year commitment and work overtime as needed (including weekends and holidays), often without advance notice.  Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
