Description

The Facilities Team Lead is responsible for managing the facilities department within the European headquarters in Woerden. The role is a combination of management and hands on tasks which means it can be best described as a cooperating foreman role performing (part of) the same and/or daily tasks the other team member is performing besides the sole responsibilities of the team lead.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Managing the other team member, setting up personal targets for her and perform periodic reviews
  • Facilities department procurement, maintain and (re)negotiate contracts and act as contact person for facilities vendors and other external facilities partners
  • Setting up and managing the facilities department budget
  • Being the primary contact for the building owner and relating building management company and have regular meetings to e.g. maintain the relationship, discuss improvements or planned maintenance.
  • Making sure daily and/or regular maintenance to the building is performed
  • Manage contractors and/or other maintenance companies which perform maintenance on the premises of the KORE office in Woerden
  • Act as primary contact person for any subtenants in the KORE office in Woerden
  • Act as ‘arbo’ and prevention coordinator, devise and maintain evacuation plans, perform periodic evacuation drills and check and maintain safety
  • Manage the office cleaning company on quality of service and have regular meetings on performance with the cleaning company’s team lead/manager
  • Perform basic facility tasks like e.g. maintenance of the coffee machines in the building
  • Act as a host/hostess for colleagues which are visiting the Woerden office from abroad1,
  • Manage travel requests

SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Negotiation skills: Strong personality, negotiate fair but in the best interest of the company
  • Planning and organizing: Ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility: Flexible in working hours and being to adjust expectations
  • Cooperation: Being able to connect and level with departmental managers
  • Initiative and quality: you proactively think about improvements within the department/ building and act on them, also towards internal as well as external stakeholders

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A relevant facilities education on MBO level
  • 1-2 years of facilities experience
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Team player and motivator
  • Being able to set directions and goals and follow up on that
  • Empowerment and embody a learning environment
  • Positive attitude towards challenges and hands on mentality
