Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and help us convert our rapidly growing, high-tech manufacturing business from a job shop model to a volume production model. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electromechanical manufacturing processes, experience in process improvement, and a proven track record of successfully leading production conversion projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement; develop and execute plans to convert the business to a production operation.
- Design facility layout options with the goal of optimizing outputs.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient production processes.
- Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to reduce cycle time, increase throughput, and improve quality.
- Work closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery and minimized lead times.
- Act as the voice of the customer with design and engineering teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products and provide feedback for design improvements.
- Create and maintain production-related documentation, including bills of materials, work instructions, and routing instructions.
- Develop and maintain metrics to track and improve manufacturing performance, including yield, cycle time, and on-time delivery.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost savings, quality improvements, and process efficiencies.
- Design training programs for employees in concert with the quality, safety, and HR teams.

The position will report to the Director of Operations and Projects.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges with or without corrective lenses or an assistive device.
- Good manual dexterity is required to use computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies.
- The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer and phone are normal.
- Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required.
- Secondary job requirements include travel with fieldwork.
