Job Overview
The Lead Sales Engineer (LSE) is a member of the KORE Solutions, Inc (KSI) sales group who is tasked with the ongoing development of KSI technical proposals to accompany the sales team’s energy storage system (ESS) business proposals provided to end-user clients in the commercial, industrial, utility, and government sectors.
The position requires a high degree of acumen in understanding both the mechanical and electrical subsystems which are involved in KORE’s standard product ESS offering and how the standard products are applied to create large grid scale facilities ranging into the hundreds of megawatt hours.
The LSE will work under the direction of the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Sales and will perform pre-sales engineering functions for the Senior Account Managers within the group, aid in the development of a standard set of general arrangement and single-line electrical diagrams prepared by KSI Engineering and maintain up-to-date engineering schematics of all KSI systems.
The LSE may be called upon to work with KSI Engineering directly in the development of customized ESS solutions for clients.
The LSE may be called upon to supervise additional Sales Engineers in the future as company needs evolve.
Work is primarily based out of our Waterbury, Vermont office. During system construction and integration, you may be required to travel to various client locations throughout the United States and may be called upon to attend trade shows specific to your area of expertise.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Plan, conceptualize, and create general arrangement drawings for new projects in cooperation with KSI Engineering.
- Plan, conceptualize, and create single line electrical drawings for new projects in cooperation with KSI Engineering.
- Ability and willingness to learn to read electrical schematics.
- Maintain KSI Sales Design Library of all base KORE battery and standard ESS products.
- Size battery arrays utilizing KORE Power battery sizing tools developed by KORE Power battery engineers.
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with customers, vendors, and contractors.
- Experience with HVAC sizing and CFD is desired.
- Experience with Fire Protection Engineering has added value.
Reports To
The position will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Sales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in engineering.
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts; experience in designing mechanical or electrical systems and products.
- Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems.
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to laypersons.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- A knowledge of MS Office product suite is desired.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
- Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required.
- Good manual dexterity is required for the use of computers, mobile devices, and other technologies.
