Job Description

KORE Power is seeking a diligent and experienced Accountant to join our accounting department. The accountant’s main responsibilities include multi-state and international payroll processing and accounts payable.

Payroll related duties include registration with states, track and reconcile payroll tax filings, W-2 preparation and reconciliation, garnishments and benefits payments, and other payroll-related duties as needed. The accountant will also assist in implementing a company-wide Human Resource Information System (HRIS), which includes time tracking and payroll processing.

Accounts payable related duties include accounts payable processing, performing vendor account reconciliations, vendor accounts management, and 1099 filings.

Other duties:

  • assist with budget and close processes;
  • help others in Accounting and Finance departments, as needed;
  • respond to information requests by management;
  • assist with information gathering during audits.

The position reports to the Controller.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to timely and accurately perform your duties, pivot to the requests of management, and identify and communicate any issues or concerns in a timely manner. Further, you should possess and demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and process multi-state and international payroll in a timely manner
  • Payroll tax registrations and timely filings
  • Assist in the implementation of company-wide HRIS, which includes time tracking and payroll processing
  • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes
  • Assist in performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
  • Responding to information requests and assisting with audits
  • Assisting the Finance department as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 2+ years of accounting and/or payroll experience. Multi-state payroll experience is a plus.
  • Working experience with an ERP system preferred (Oracle Fusion)
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Currently hold or preparing to become licensed or certified a plus (i.e., CPA, CMA, Certified Payroll Professional, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP a plus
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
