Position Overview:

KORE Power, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own all aspects of structural/mechanical design within KORE’s existing products and new product development programs. This role is expected to have a large degree of autonomy and will be required to plan work and meet schedules, providing frequent and effective communication to stakeholders. Working within a small team and a structured product development process, cross-functional collaboration will be critically important (and actively encouraged).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assigned to structural products and mechanical components, sub-assemblies and systems. Assignments may include programs with new customers, the introduction of new operating procedures and the product delivery process.
  • Coordinate the complete development for the designated products including, but not limited to design, build and test activities, in accordance with standard operating procedures and the product delivery process.
  • Key customer interface (internal and external) who can successfully negotiate and influence design direction for optimum feasibility and cost.
  • Help define and incorporate customer requirements, and product specifications into the design of the designated products, ensuring compliance with operational, cost, timing, safety, reliability, quality and manufacturing feasibility parameters and government regulations
  • Analyze products and formulate engineering conclusions by the application of engineering and/or mathematical principles and tools.
  • Develop engineering models, drawings, specifications, DVP&R's, BOM, prototype control plans, engineering changes and work orders.
  • Consult and collaborate with personnel in various engineering and design activities relative to product development requirements. Conducts effective communications within the project team and the customer, supplier, manufacturing, and quality communities with guidance from engineering management and senior engineering personnel.
  • Maintain all appropriate documentation and database.
  • Provide engineering direction and support to design personnel.
  • Review and approve engineering designs. Review, approve, complete, and submit required change notices to ensure design outputs meet design inputs.
  • Independently prioritize the completion of tasks and resolution of issues to ensure compliance to program deliverables. Contribute to the development of project timing and set targets to manage release of product deliverables per Master Timing Plan.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or bachelor's equivalency) in Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 4 years diversified engineering experience within the structural products and mechanical components and systems
  • Experience in new product development & launch
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a timely manner to meet milestones and schedules
  • Ability to read, create, and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications
  • High competency in CAD
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and database applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current PE licence or ability to obtain one
  • Engineering simulation suites (e.g. Matlab, Catia, ANSYS, Maplesoft)
  • System analysis tools such as Fault Tree, FMEA, FMEDA, Hazop
