Job Overview

The bookkeeper’s main responsibilities include accounts payable, monthly close, and accounts receivable.

 

Accounts payable-related duties include accounts payable processing, performing vendor account reconciliations, vendor accounts management, and 1099 filings. Monthly close processes include revenue recognition reporting requirements, preparing journal entries, and analysis.  Accounts receivable-related duties include ensuring timely receipt of payments, creation, and submission of customer invoices, and collections duties as required.

 

Other duties:

  • Assist with budget and quarterly close processes.
  • Help others in Accounting and Finance departments, as needed.
  • Respond to information requests by management.
  • Assist with information gathering during audits
  • Assist with timesheet review and verification during payroll processing.

 

To be successful in this role, you should be able to accurately perform your duties in a timely manner, pivot to the requests of management, and identify and communicate any issues or concerns in a timely manner. Further, you should possess and demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, procurement, and receivables.
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
  • Assist in performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Responding to information requests and assisting with audits.
  • Assisting the Finance department as needed.

Reports To

The position will report directly to the Senior Accountant. 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping, payroll experience a plus.
  • Working experience with an ERP system preferred (Oracle Fusion).
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP is a plus.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 Physical Requirements 

  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
  • Good manual dexterity is required to use computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies.
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Activities require the ability to remain in a stationary position most of the time, occasionally move about inside the office to access files or office equipment, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, handheld devices, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • No heavy lifting is expected.
