Job Overview

 

The Quality Assurance Engineer is part of the Training and Quality Assurance Team responsible for developing and executing the quality assurance program in support of KORE’s custom-engineered and manufactured battery energy storage solutions. Work is based at our Waterbury, Vermont facility.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Conducting audits and inspections of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Analyzing data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering, production, and procurement, to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Working with the training and Q/A team to develop and implement training programs to ensure that employees are trained in quality control processes and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation related to quality control processes and procedures.
  • Ensuring that all manufacturing equipment and facilities are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Traveling to Contract Manufacturing facilities to conduct inspections and ensure a product consistent with Kore Solutions quality control processes is being produced.
  • Involved in supporting all aspects of battery energy storage system production, including electrical, mechanical, and controller fabrication.
  • Follow safety procedures and report any safety concerns to the Compliance and Safety Manager Officer or Production Manager.
  • Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
  • Assisting with development of best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.

 

Qualifications

  • A degree in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering, or commensurate electrical skills.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience working in engineering production or a related field.
  • A firm grasp of engineering concepts; experience with mechanical, electrical systems, and manufacturing products.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability, able to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker, should be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with safety, quality assurance, and compliance.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device. 
  • Ability to communicate orally.
  • Standing for extended periods is common.
  • Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required.
  • Good manual dexterity is required.

Work Environment

  • The job is performed indoors in a traditional production setting and requires some travel to contract manufacturing facilities.
