Job Overview

 

The Control System Test Engineer is part of the engineering and design team that builds and delivers our engineered solutions.  Work is primarily based out of our Waterbury, Vermont office

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Review Production builds during Factory Authorization (FAT) Testing and validate installation of mechanical, electrical and control systems and devices.
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with the project team and coordinate modifications or corrective actions.
  • Manage and maintain FAT Punch List documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for device calibration and configuration.
  • Perform device calibrations and configurations.
  • Assist the Lead Controls Engineer during testing and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Up to 20% Travel may be required to assist with onsite project commissioning.

Reports To

 

The position will report to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering is preferred, with an emphasis on controls, electrical, or software engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
  • Experience working with electrical power systems is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel and Word.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
  • Good manual dexterity is required for occasional wiring, assembly, and din-rail device installation.  
  • Some lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 25 lbs. of force may be required.  
  • Secondary job requirements include travel with fieldwork which can consist of hiking, construction work, moving heavy objects, and wearing PPE for specific tasks.
