Position Overview:
The Manager of State and Local Affairs will lead KORE’s state, local, and community activities in Arizona and most specifically in Buckeye. This includes monitoring state and local government issues, implementing KORE’s community engagement plan, and providing support to the communications/marketing team. This position will require the ability to understand KORE’s priorities, the state and local legislative process and how to work collaboratively with state and local stakeholders, including tribes, community organizations and members.
This position reports to the Vice President of Government Affairs and supports a cross-functional team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships on behalf of the company with AZ legislative and executive branch, mayors, county boards, tribal officials, local organizations, and community members.
- Be the principal ambassador for the company, responsible for sharing its vision with the local community.
- Manage implementation of community benefits strategy, including workforce development, DEIA frameworks, and community investments.
- Manage state and local legislative, regulatory, and media agenda, including tracking legislation at the state and local level and providing support to marketing team.
- Responsible for working with internal business partners and functions to develop positions and communicate views to state and local stakeholders.
- Represent the company in state and local trade associations and at community events.
- Write updates for biweekly internal report and issue summaries for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications:
- At least 7-10 years of experience in state and local or community affairs
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with an ability to prioritize work tasks and processes
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively and cross-functionally as part of a remote team
- Able to work with a wide variety of stakeholders with exceptional judgment, kindness, and professionalism
