Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Deliver on aggressive growth and profitability targets in order to position KNX as the best-in-class, asset based, 3PL. Provide leadership to team of transportation analysts as they buy and sell freight in a dynamic environment. Align the group for rapid and profitable growth through training, development and coaching. Contribute to and align with the strategies and tactics of the KNX Logistics organization while building and optimizing the use of carrier partner relationships, alliance partnerships and other relations to deliver the most compelling short and long-term customer value propositions and efficient means of moving our customer's freight.
- Create and provide brokerage solutions for high-level complex freight conditions.
- Develop key carriers through increased volume, profitability and service offerings.
- Address escalated, highly complex carrier issues; provide problem resolution and deliver win-win solutions tat ensure carrier satisfaction.
- Manages team's hourly refusal/acceptance of VIP load board from asset division.
- Build carriers through identification of continuous moves, drop trailer and backhaul opportunities.
- Ensure lead management of buy vs. DAT, daily load count, loads per carrier/buyer, outbound calls, margin and fuel metrics.
- Provide oversight of negotiations of rates and terms.
- Promotes strong communication with Team and follow ups, to grow existing carrier base and reduce 'new carriers' through outbound calls and reduction of DAT Posts. Hold designated brokerage teams accountable for delivering on customer-focus expectations.
- Facilitate route optimization and increase usage of key carriers.
- Provide regular reports to senior level management team.
- Maintain focus on Key Performance Indicators, reports, metrics and methods for ongoing measurement of customer performance and departmental success. Embrace the use of Knight's business improvement tools and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which reflects Knight's mission and values and facilitates the success of business unit in order to meet company expectations.
- Proactively work to assist other in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- Seven (7) years' industry experience, inclusive of a combination of brokerage and working in Third Party Logistics (3PL) environment and sales/service experience required.
- Three (3) years' experience in obtaining, retaining, growing a team and brokerage book of business required.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree in business or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
- Must possess exceptional leadership, communication and mentoring skills.
- Must be knowledgeable of 3PL and transportation industry.
- Must be results orientated and able to solicit new customers and meet specific revenue targets.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and collaborate with others. Must be able to transfer knowledge.
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and purpose, with a bias for action.
- Must be proficient in MS Office, productivity programs and other technology systems.
Pay Range: $102,750.00 - $174,250.00 Annual
