Job Description Summary

This person in this role will have responsibility for a team of distribution employees. He/she will also develop and track metrics that support operational goals. The Distribution Center Zone Leader oversees the efficient and safe physical layout of the distribution center and its equipment.  To ensure operational efficiency, this position will implement logistics technology and develop/maintain processes. They will also provide superior internal and external customer service.  This position will report to the Distribution Center Manager.

The duties and responsibilities of a Distribution Center Zone Leader will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Responsible for the organization of the warehouse from facilities layout through workflow optimization
  • Inventory management, leadership and direct supervision of the distribution center team
  • Manage the delivery of components to line side in a lean environment
  • Helps manage movement of inventory in and out of facility
  • Recruits, onboards, trains, develops and manages the performance of direct reports.  
  • Works in collaboration with management across all shifts at site location as well as across the organization to drive results for suppliers and internal and external customers
  • Weekly travel between KV sites required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education: High school graduate

Work Experience: 5 years of Shipping or Receiving experience and 2 years leading teams

Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively

Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively across a diverse customer-base; good verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.

Physical Environment: Non-climate controlled manufacturing and warehouse environment 

Preferred Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Work Experience: Experienced in Warehouse Management Systems to include warehouse slotting. Member of WERC or other Warehouse Management organizations

Computer Skills: Experience with Oracle
