 This position requires bilingual fluency in Spanish

The Production Operator Lead III will lead all activities for the crews and machines assigned.  They will be responsible for sharing ownership for Safety, Quality and Throughput improvements.  This includes making decisions on quality and containment within the department, identifying safety hazards and leading correction, and ensuring the most efficient operation of equipment.  This position requires good communication and teamwork skills, a strong desire to succeed and achieve targets, and great presence and quality decision-making.  This position reports to the Zone Leader.

 

The duties and responsibilities of a Production Operator Lead III will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Demonstrated competency and willingness to operate multiple areas
  • Responsible for achieving rate and meeting targets
  • Load, hand, position, unload, and manipulate parts
  • Conduct changeovers and setups as a team
  • Perform all quality functions and checks as required
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Perform all shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements
  • Respond to machine faults and downtime, and accurately track on data collection sheets
  • Perform all quality functions and checks as required
  • Keep a clean and organized work area
  • Inspect parts and machinery for errors
  • Responsible for training Machine Operator I’s, Operator II’s and transfers
  • Troubleshoot and reset faults
  • Participate in Kaizen events, problem solving teams and improvement projects as available
  • Ensure data collection is accurate and complete
  • Work cooperatively and cohesively as a team, and escalate to Zone Leader any inappropriate conduct or language
  • Strong knowledge in Shop Order execution and Oracle responsibilities
  • Communicate with Planning, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supervision, with emphasis on communication and schedule attainment
  • Respond to Machine Errors and resolve issues, perform advanced functions with specialized equipment.
  • Led, train and coach others
  • Responsible for making decisions on team member assignments and responsibilities, moving team to productive areas during downtime periods
  • Responsible for achieving team targets and goals
  • Able to change over machines quickly and correctly, and solve team member technical issues
  • Responsible for improving workplace organization & 5S initiatives
  • Responsible for solving complex quality issues, and containing product within department
  • Continuous improvement leader and initiates continuous improvement ideas
  • Coordinate with all other support departments
  • Promote teamwork and cooperation
  • Ensure safe work environment, proficient in advanced safety procedures such as lockout etc.
  • Conduct safety and quality audits
  • Ability to assist with Zone Leaders duties in absence of Zone Leader
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Work Experience: 3 Years of relevant experience
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Computer Skills: Ability to learn and make transactions in an ERP system like Oracle
  • Certification:  N/A
  • Organization Skills: Highly analytical with strong troubleshooting skills, capable of diagnosing and correcting complex faults and downtime, Ability to efficiently work in a high paced environment
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work with other team members on the production floor, Able to run multiple jobs in more than one department, Must be able to run multiple jobs and complete job changeovers in more than two departments
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively, Ability to problem-solve
  • Communication Skills: Spanish speaking bilingual fluency. Ability to communicate effectively with team and with individuals at all levels.
