Paraprofessional - Temp hire with possibility to go on-call
Hiring Range: $20.07 - $24.58 per hour

We're seeking a Paraprofessional to join our team and provide therapeutic support to students enrolled in our Madrona School Day Treatment Program. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating a Supportive Environment: Collaborate with program staff to maintain a positive, structured, and therapeutic milieu that meets students' emotional, developmental, and educational needs.
  • One-on-One Assistance: Provide direct observation and 1:1 intervention to help students comply with program expectations. Identify and address barriers to success, assist with conflict resolution, and support students in expressing themselves appropriately.
  • Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to provide immediate, therapeutic crisis interventions when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Behavioral Programs: Work with the team to implement behavioral programs and intervention plans. Offer input into daily and weekly student summaries and level rating forms.
  • Documentation: Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner, contributing to the efficient operation of the program.
  • Support: Provide support to other school programs as needed, including field trips and program activities that enrich the student experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Entry level (1 year of prior experience working with children)

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration

Per the RCW 28A.400.303, employees of contractors with school districts that “have regularly scheduled unsupervised access to children” are required to go through FBI fingerprinting. 

Food Handler’s Permit is required for Madrona, preferred for Sequoia Program and Restorative School.
