Hiring Range: $32.53 - $40.67 Per Hour

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus* (Half Paid At First Paycheck, Half Paid After 12 Months)

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring an experienced Access Intake Clinician II with a focus on outreach to join our team. In this role, you will provide mental health coordination, screening, assessment, and treatment recommendations for adults and children, collaborating with their parents or guardians. The Access Intake Clinician II – Outreach plays a crucial role in improving operations at KMHS and providing the highest level of customer service to our clients. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Triage individual requests for service, providing immediate referral to crisis services for emergent cases and completing crisis interventions for non-emergent clients.
  • Maintain an understanding of KMHS services and criteria for accessing programs, as well as community services available outside of KMHS.
  • Conduct clinical interviews and intake assessments, utilizing diagnostic manuals and medical necessity guidelines to determine provisional diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
  • Assist in facilitating a smooth transition for eligible clients by coordinating with multiple KMHS departments and community partners.
  • Conduct outreach intake assessments with community partners in various locations, including schools, adult family homes, and treatment centers.
  • Provide effective and efficient clinical services using best practice standards, and complete all required agency documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate as an integral member of the Access Team, working cooperatively with staff from all agency departments.
  • Pursue professional growth and development by seeking out learning opportunities and staying updated on current community mental health trends.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience).

Certification as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) Required.

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.

 

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS).

Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.

LICENSURE: WA state license in social work or mental health field.
