Hiring Range SUDP: $26.89-$33.61 per hour

Hiring Range SUDPT: $20.07-$24.58 per hour

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) or Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT) to provide integrated substance use disorder treatment and mental health services on our Pacific Hope and Recovery (PHRC) team. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, develop, and implement treatment plans that support individuals in their recovery journey. This role focuses on evidence-based interventions, harm reduction strategies, and trauma-informed care to empower individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services, including individual and group therapy, psychoeducational workshops, recovery skill-building groups, and crisis intervention.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans integrating mental health and substance use disorder interventions.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and other evidence-based approaches to engage individuals in their recovery process.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships while upholding professional boundaries.
  • Conduct random urine drug screenings (UDS) as clinically indicated.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and ongoing assessment to ensure client safety.
  • Monitor compliance with legal and court-ordered substance use mandates, including Less Restrictive Alternative (LRA) orders.
  • Document all clinical services thoroughly and accurately in compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, medical providers, housing teams, probation officers, and community-based treatment providers.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications used in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and their interactions with substances.
  • Focus on teamwork, communication, and fostering a positive work atmosphere to enhance client outcomes.
  • Engage individuals with encouragement and positive reinforcement to support their motivation for recovery.

 

 

SUDP Trainee Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

 

EXPERIENCE: Entry level (no prior related work experience)

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must meet agency driving requirements, including meeting the minimum age requirement of 21 years old, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.

WA Food Worker Card (if working at Pacific Hope & Recovery)

 

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. Ability to gain licensure as SUDPT in WA State

 

Licensed SUDP Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field

 

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
