Hiring Range: $22.67 - $27.78 per hour
Location: Onsite in Bremerton, WA

General Summary of Duties: The Payroll Technician is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Manage electronic timekeeping systems and review timesheets. Monitor timesheet entries to ensure time and absence are recorded properly and timely, in accordance with KMHS polices and deadlines; work with employees and supervisors to resolve timesheet issues.
- Process biweekly payroll for employees using UKG.
- Update employee records, verify data for computer entry errors, maintain payroll files, prepare, and submit miscellaneous payroll-related reports.
- Facilitate payroll related agency benefits by preparing tax shelter annuity and medical insurance billings for payment.
- Process all types of garnishments and deductions in a timely manner, requiring extensive knowledge in all types of garnishments and the state laws pertaining to garnishment payments and processing.
- Provides all necessary information for both internal and external audits.
- Collaborates with People Experience to maintain UKG employee database and process information accurately and timely.
- Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field OR Four or more years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hands-on experience with HRIS and accounting software
Accounting knowledge sufficient to perform journal entries and payroll account reconciliations
Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)
Experience using UKG.
