Hiring Range: $42.45 - $54.13 Per Hour

Join the New Journeys team at Kitsap Mental Health Services, where we provide essential services to clients profoundly impacted by mental health disorders. As part of our dedicated team, you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary group that includes a family education provider, therapist, peer specialist, vocational specialist, and psychiatric provider. New Journeys clients, typically with diagnoses such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders, receive comprehensive support for 12-24 months, tailored to their individual needs, before transitioning to Adult Outpatient services. Most services are provided in clients' homes or community settings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the team medical provider, collaborate with other Registered Nurses to develop, revise, and maintain team psychopharmacologic and medical treatment policies. This includes administering, evaluating, and recording prescribed psychotropic medications, as well as arranging required lab work.
  • Conduct medical assessments of client physical health, coordinating referrals to community physicians and dentists, and aligning psychiatric treatment with medical needs.
  • Deliver substance use education to clients, highlighting its effects on mental and physical health, and assist clients in creating plans to reduce or abstain from substance use, employing a harm reduction approach.
  • Collaborate with team members to support clients in building skills for independent living, including activities such as shopping, cooking, personal hygiene, budgeting, socialization, and accessing transportation.
  • Maintain timely documentation of client progress, ensuring that RN services align with and contribute to clients' treatment plan goals.
  • Engage in daily staff meetings and scheduled treatment planning reviews to contribute to the holistic care of clients.
  • Utilize situational awareness to evaluate and mitigate physical risks for yourself, team members, and clients in potentially unsafe environments or situations.
  • Collaborate with team members in crisis intervention as directed by the supervisor to provide immediate support and assistance to clients in distress.
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards set for the position to ensure effective delivery of services.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Associates degree in Nursing.

 

EXPERIENCE: Entry level (no prior related work experience)

 

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

 

LICENSURE: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse  license in Washington State. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Nursing.

EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in one of the following environments: Adult, Adolescent or Child Inpatient Mental Health, and/or Addiction Treatment preferred
