Hiring Range DOE: (non-exempt range) $26.89 - $32.56 hourly; (exempt range) $67,724-$69,908 annually

General Summary of Duties:  The YIU Operations Supervisor provides administrative management support to the agency's Youth Evaluation & Treatment Facility, the Youth Inpatient Unit (YIU).
 
The YIU Operations Supervisor is a member of the YIU Leadership Team which drives quality, safety and efficiency initiatives in program operations.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities: Shift Supervisors and On-call Behavioral Health Techs (BHTs) 
 
Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
 
Administrative  
  • In collaboration with YIU leadership analyze current workflows and processes to improve overall functioning and operations of the program.
  • Conduct chart checks to ensure accurate and high quality documentation. Collaborate with YIU leadership on audits as appropriate.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of efficient inventory management and purchasing protocols.
  • Monitor unit kitchen operations for both regulatory compliance and meeting clients’ needs.
Supervision
  • Provide regular, administrative supervision for all assigned staff. Provide supervision for all on-call BHTs on an as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with YIU Clinical Supervisor to conduct performance appraisals for all assigned staff.
  • Monitor assigned training, compliance, and due dates in the Learning Management System.
  • Train, Coach, and supervise assigned staff as appropriate; work with shift supervisors on tasks with their assigned teams.
Hiring
  • Monitor recruiter dashboard daily, screen new applicants and schedule interviews. Work with People Experience (PE) to keep track of status of applicants in the hiring process.
  • In collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor check off/sign all onboarding documentation for new employees. Oversee onboarding and orientation of Shift Supervisor and BHT staff.
Unit and Milieu Staffing
  • Create weekly staff schedule at least two months in advance, monitor/edit, and make changes as staffing needs change.
  • Ensure the unit is appropriately staffed. Be available to assist team by covering the floor if short staffed, filling in as shift supervisor, participating in behavioral interventions, supporting any physical interventions and/or Seclusion & Restraint (S&R) procedures, and providing additional support as needed.
  • Monitor and track shift supervisor and BHT overtime, attendance and call-outs. 
  • Regularly monitor time sheets for break compliance. Ensure staff is adhering to timekeeping statement requirements and that supervisors and staff are trained in timekeeping and attendance requirements.
  • Attend YIU Treatment Team Meetings and remain apprised of changes in client acuity, treatment needs and behavioral protocols.  .
  • Provide administrative leadership support for admissions screenings and ensure timely admissions workflows.
  • Model appropriate techniques/behavior, including:
    • Effective interventions on the floor
    • Conversations with clients
    • Trauma Informed Care (TIC)
    • Professionalism
  • Promote the enhancement of positive staff morale by facilitating timely response to problems and ensuring thorough and accurate internal and external communications.

Minimum Qualifications:
 
EDUCATION and Experience:
 
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health and 2 years community behavioral health experience OR equivalent education and experience requirements (i.e. High School Diploma and 5 years’ experience).
 
AND
 
Two years’ experience in staff supervision.
 
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.  
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
EXPERIENCE: Specialist (4+ years of experience). 4+ years community behavioral health experience

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
 
Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.
 
Mental/Physical Requirements:  While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, ascend and descend stairs, talk or listen and lift up to 50 pounds. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
