Hiring Range: $32.53 - $40.67 per Hour

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Access Intake Clinician II to join our Access Team. As an Access Clinician, you will play a vital role in mental health coordination, screening, assessment, and treatment recommendations for adults and children 



Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Triage individual requests for service, providing immediate referral to crisis services for emergent cases, completing crisis intervention for non-emergent clients, and offering information and referral sources to those who do not meet entrance criteria.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of KMHS services and their criteria, as well as community services available outside of KMHS, Medicaid eligibility, the application process, and the Washington Health Benefit Exchange.
  • Conduct clinical interviews and intake assessments, utilizing diagnostic manuals, state Access to Care criteria, and medical necessity guidelines to determine provisional diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
  • Coordinate with multiple KMHS departments and community partners to ensure a smooth transition and positive experience for clients who meet criteria.
  • Conduct outreach and priority assessments as needed, traveling to satellite locations for assessments.
  • Provide effective and efficient clinical services, adhering to best practice standards.
  • Complete all required agency documentation accurately and in a timely manner, using collaborative documentation in the agency's electronic health record.
  • Participate as an integral member of the Access Team, building positive working relationships with staff across all agency departments.
  • Pursue professional growth and development, integrating new learning into daily work practices and staying informed about current community mental health trends.

  

Minimum Qualifications:  

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field. 

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience).  

Certification as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) 

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. (Can be obtained after hire) 

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

EXPERIENCE: Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS). 

Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties. 

LICENSURE: WA state license in social work or mental health field.
