Hiring Range: $34.96 - $43.10 Per Hour

In this crucial role, you will provide clinical assessment and stabilization services for voluntary adults admitted to the 24-hour Crisis Triage Center (CTC). As a critical team member, you will work closely with staff, referral parties, and other internal KMHS departments, contributing to the clinical direction of the CTC.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Triaging referrals from community partners acting as point of contact to promptly gather all necessary documentation in order to effectively organize admissions and discharges.
  • Complete intake interviews and develop individualized Crisis Stabilization Plans for each client, incorporating relevant data from the client’s history, self-report at time of intake, risk assessment and any collateral information. .
  • Collaborate with the CTC program manager, administrative clinical supervisor, , and Designated Crisis Responders for cohesive crisis intervention and assessing the need for a higher level of care.
  • Oversee the clinical care of the clients residing at CTC, including managing risk, and de-escalating where appropriate.
  • Assign and lead the multi-disciplinary team, to include Behavioural Health Technicians, Peer Counselors and Case Managers. Ensure daily assignments and tasks are complete promptly and address any staff concerns or needs.
  • Provide brief individual, therapeutic services to support client stabilization and reduction in symptoms. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to provide individualized resources and safety planning to ensure successful discharge planning and reduce the need for readmission or higher level of care.
  • Develop individualized discharge plans in collaboration with the Recovery Case Manager and Certified Peer Counselors, including arranging and documenting follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to meet regulatory, agency, and funding source requirements.
  • Routinely assess client and staff safety, taking effective corrective action as needed.
  • Disclose limited client information as necessary, adhering to HIPAA privacy and security standards.

  

  

Minimum Qualifications:  

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field or must meet waiver criteria of RCW 71.24.260. 

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience) 

Two years of postgraduate, documented, supervised clinical experience working directly within behavioral health including co-occurring mental health and substance abuse, substance related disorders. . 

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor License or higher. Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-877-0500.  

This position requires the ability to react quickly and perceive environmental stimuli accurately.  

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

EXPERIENCE: Experience in crisis services, inpatient adult services., or experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting. 

Experience with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and co-occurring substance use disorders.
