Position Overview

Our schools are looking for talented and committed educators to serve as Education Specialists for our moderate- severe elementary, middle, and high school STP programs. STP Education Specialists serve as Special Education SPED Teacher s & Case Managers, working primarily with students with Individualized Education Plans in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. Education Specialists work closely with school leadership, paraeducators, general education SPED Teacher s, program specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to plan & implement individualized & rigorous educational programming for students in Special Education. Education Specialists are responsible for Case Management & Compliance, Goal Setting & Progress Monitoring, Stakeholder Engagement & Empowerment, as well as Lesson Planning & delivery of effective teaching practices for all students.

They must also be committed to KIPP Bay Area Public School’s mission while possessing the beliefs, character traits, and skills necessary to ensure student growth and achievement.

All KIPP Education Specialists must...

  • Hold a valid credential as an Education Specialist authorizing service in grade levels & areas assigned as an Education Specialist, including English Learner Authorization in the state of CA (Clear Credential or CLAD), or be in the process of securing a credential. Click here to learn more

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of successful, full time teaching experience in Special Education
  • Demonstrated success teaching students from educationally underserved areas with strong achievement results and documented growth on formative assessment and/or IEP goal assessment
  • Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, or Mandarin speaking proficiency
