Position Summary

We are looking for a part-time, temporary Campus Support Aide to join our school team. The Campus Support Aide supports critical daily school routines and student supervision responsibilities, and helps our team manage general school operations needs. The ideal candidate is able to positively interact with and guide students and families, and maintain a consistent part-time schedule as agreed upon with the school. This role is a non-exempt, temporary and flexible part-time position that reports to the School Operations Team. 

School Schedule Needs

  • Tentative Working Hours: Monday-Friday (8:00am - 1:00pm OR 10:00am to 4:00pm)
  • Performs regularly scheduled non-classroom supervision duties, supervising students in the hallways, indoor assembly areas, outdoor eating areas, and restrooms, on the blacktop  and in other areas to which assigned.
  • Support activity and safety rules in school buildings and on school property.
  • Reports problems of a severe nature, including recurring behavioral issues and safety hazards to the Principal, Director of School Operations, or other leadership employees.
  • Assumes responsibilities in inclement weather as assigned by the Principal, Director of School Operations, or other leadership employees.
  • Check restrooms in the morning, during breaks, lunch, and after school 
  • Covers any Campus Aide function as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous work experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with basic office technology, including email

Knowledge/skills required:

  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor with ability to communicate effectively with students and families. 
  • Comfortable supervising large groups of students, and intervening as needed to help resolve conflicts.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Supervise students during non-instructional activities and transitions

  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, before or after school, or during other identified school schedule needs
  • Set up and support student arrival, dismissal and other whole-school transitions
  • Greet families and help children safely cross the street at key locations during pick-up/drop-off
  • Set up and take down play equipment and materials, provide opportunities for students to play organized games during recess
  • Support school culture and student expectations by helping students to resolve conflicts independently, and communicating with teachers and staff regarding students’ behavior

Support General Campus Operations

  • Time permitting, support School Operations Team with other initiatives and operational needs at school, as directed by the manager


Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

Physical

Ability to navigate the office and school campus, and hold meetings in different spaces. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time and actively converse and participate with others. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.

Mental

The stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to work with interruptions, read, enter data, memorize and recall objects and people.

Environmental

Office, classroom and outdoor campus settings, with occasional interruptions and distractions. 

Classification

Part-time, non-exempt position and based on a school calendar and time-off schedule.

We benchmark annually against school districts and charter schools in the regions where we operate, to offer competitive salaries. The salary range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00 / hour.
