GENERAL SUMMARY:

Serving as a bridge between the Creative Team and our roster of internal clients, the Creative Project Manager’s role is to create efficiencies in communication, execution, and deployment of final assets throughout the lifespan of a project. He/she will create work-back schedules and collaborate with clients and key discipline leaders on the Creative Team to intake briefs, establish parameters for successful execution, and facilitate their completion. This requires diplomacy, strategic thinking, process innovation, communication skills, and a robust understanding of how creative is developed.

 

Reporting to the Director of Creative Services and working close with leaders in Content, Design, Copywriting, and Marketing, this role ensures on-time, on-budget delivery of assets to clients. They keep things moving, they solve problems, and they proactively anticipate obstacles and problems, enabling designers to focus on design and marketers to focus on marketing. This role is all about smart project management, juggling timelines, multitasking complex moving parts, and getting teams to work well together.

 

In addition to client communication, a Creative Project Manager is responsible for mastery of our bigger picture priorities relative to brand strategy and available resources. Their job is to ensure the pipeline of requests is never greater than the bandwidth to execute. They need to have complete understanding of all our project management software, asset management tools, and communication platforms.

 

KEY RESPONSIBIILTIES:

  • Work closely with Marketing and Creative teams to accurately scope projects, intake project briefs, and create project plans and schedules.
  • Provide day-to-day project management leadership to both internal and external teams to drive creative production.
  • Develop a communication structure and cadence to inform and engage employees across business units with important messages, activities, and exercises to ensure project portfolio success.
  • Manage and clearly define multi-disciplinary creative project parameters and manage the process, workflow, work back schedule, and teams to ensure timeliness, efficiency, and budget accuracy.
  • Develop steering committee structure and provide transparency to key issues and risks that affect the short and long term success of projects.
  • Manage the feedback and revision process to ensure quality is upheld and projects remain in scope and within budget.
  • Have strong abilities in extracting insight, not simply relaying information.
  • Build strong relationships with business unit leaders, gain buy-in, and create shared success metrics to ensure commitment and prioritization.
  • Work closely with BU members and Creative team members.
  • Maintain BU creative project list, budgets and track yearly progress against the BU annual revenue.
  • Organize and lead project meetings, including developing agendas and keeping meeting minutes to be shared with the team.
  • Work directly with Creative Leaders to understand resource availability and plan resources effectively.
  • Report on status of projects and project performance metrics for Creative BU.
  • Monitor project progress, continuously tracking and updating action items for various projects, and ensuring project documentation is complete and current.
  • Lead as the internal project champion, encouraging all team members to make efficient progress through timelines.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to maintain client relationships.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in project management or production in the graphic design or creative field, which includes:
  • Supporting designers or clients on 3D and/or print media production, vendors, builders or fulfillment house.
  • Working with a team of creatives on large scale projects such as tradeshows, retail, or exhibitions.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mac user
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including: Word, Excel PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Adobe programs is a plus
  • Experienced in working with file formats (PDF, JPG, TIFF)
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate and take creative direction
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written)
  • Detailed oriented with excellent organizational, budgeting, time management and problem solving skills
  • Experience managing and/or working a photo shoot
  • Works well collaboratively and independently
  • Self-motivated and able to initiate projects
  • Knowledge of Wrike workflow
  • Knowledge of Widen DAM
  • Agency experience preferred
