Producer IV - Left Right Center

Content Santa Monica, California

Who we are

KCRW is a public media leader, creating and curating a unique mix of content centered around music discovery, NPR news, cultural exploration and informed public affairs. We are driven by the spirit of Los Angeles and deliver in innovative ways -- on the radio, digitally and in person -- to diverse, curious communities around the corner and around the world.

What we need

KCRW is looking for a producer for Left, Right & Center, our flagship politics roundtable show and podcast. This producer is responsible for booking rotating guests, prepping the host, and using sharp news judgment to select compelling topics from week to week. This producer oversees production, directs content edits on deadline and delivers the show for both a broadcast and on-demand audience. We want to speak to:

Versatile collaborators. You enjoy working collaboratively with talented audio engineers as well as panelists and hosts who are often remote.

Keen observers of politics and policy. You’ll be a liaison and talent scout, working with leading writers, policy analysts and newsmakers with diverse opinions.

Smart audio journalists. You are passionate about public radio but just as dedicated to the podcast space and eager to help grow the podcast audience and public engagement.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the News Director. This position is in the SAG-AFTRA Bargaining Unit.

This is a hybrid position and will spend 1 to 3 days per week in our Santa Monica office.

KCRW will have in effect a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all employees beginning September 15, 2021. The mandate is subject to accommodation in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
