What we need

KCRW is seeking an Associate Director, an experienced frontline fundraiser to help grow efforts with our top level annual individual donors. You would be an excellent candidate if you are comfortable using both data and creativity to develop strategy and if you possess confidence, determination and skill in donor development and management. You should have experience creating unique donor outreach and events that offer inspired and rewarding connection points for new and existing supporters. You will work closely with the Head of Development and one direct report, and you will enjoy many opportunities to collaborate on cross-departmental project teams. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Head of Development and supervising the Individual Giving Associate.

Hybrid work schedule available for select positions. Availability to work select evenings and weekends, and some travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual Champion Program strategy for $1,200 to $25,000 level individual donors.
  • Oversee the entire donor cycle from prospect research through solicitation, stewardship and upgrades.
  • Create and execute the donor event strategy (multiple monthly engagements).
  • Facilitate the Champion travel program - annual local, national or international donor trips. 
  • Develop and analyze key metrics to track donor acquisition, retention and upgrades.
  • Partner with the Membership and Communications teams to support annual pledge drives.
  • Prioritize data maintenance by ensuring accurate records in the donor database, Salesforce.
  • Supervising the Individual Giving Associate, developing goals, mentoring and supporting their professional development. 
  • Develop and maintain exemplary internal relationships with staff.
  • Support the identification and development of high-level, multi-year funding proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising management with a demonstrated career development path of increased responsibility and experiences. 
  • 3+ years of frontline fundraising, crafting the strategy and executing personalized, one-on-one solicitations.
  • Experience crafting donor-centric communications and events. 
  • Experience managing reports, processes and functions within a CRM database - Salesforce preferred. 
  • Critical thinker and problem solver who takes initiative, can manage multiple projects, and can produce high quality results on deadline. 
  • Values accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with leadership and senior management, staff and KCRW’s Board of Directors.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Executive demeanor with the ability to work both independently or with specific direction, as well as, have an ability to work well in a collaborative and team-focused environment.
