Accounting Support III, Corporate
Role Description
 
The Accounting Support III, Corporate is responsible for the monthly reporting of franchise store locations.  This includes: full cycle accounting; reconciling accounts; preparing lead sheets for year-end reporting; and, preparing tax remittances for applicable provinces.  Throughout the month she/he ensures the integrity of the financial data at the stores and to the Vernon Office.
 
Core Responsibilities
 
Statement preparation and review – P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Data entry
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Review franchise P&L’s and Balance Sheets
  • Identify and resolve significant variances/anomalies prior to distribution
 
Reporting
  • Distribute reports via macros
  • Run and Edit Query reports
  • Run and Edit NVision reports
 
Maintain accurate financial data
  • Prepare retail sales tax and levy self-review/assessment process
  • Ensure all journal entries are posted
  • Run month-end financial statements
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Prepare lead sheets for year-end file for franchise stores
 
Other
  • Prepare cheque requisitions for payroll & source deductions
  • File and remit commodity taxes for various provinces
  • Provide a high level of customer service to franchises, Vernon office teams, and management
  • Manage bank deposits and reconciliation
  • Prepare and distribute A/R customer statements
 
Work Experience
  • 2-4 years of related bookkeeping experience
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Aptitude for learning computer applications and accounting systems
  • Aptitude for analytical thinking
  • Experience with full-feature accounting systems
  • Strong working knowledge of excel
  • Readily absorbs information and grasps task and routines
  • Seeks support and guidance where appropriate.
  • Understand importance of supporting team members in the VO and at the franchise stores, as part of delivering True-Service to Kal’s customers
 
Education
  • Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • The target compensation for this role is $57,000 to $64,000 per year based on experience.
