Site Supervisor - Elk Valley Resources
Description
- This is a 5x2 EDO shift with the ideal candidate being based in the area.
- Week 1: (Mon-Thu 9 hours) + (Fri 8 hours)
- Week 2: (Mon-Thu 9 hours) + (Fri OFF) Earned Day Off

Health and Safety
- Ensure all aspects of Glencore’s Health & Safety Programs are communicated and implemented in a consistent manner with tire bay personnel.
- Ensure all aspects of Kal Tire and Glencore operational and safety standards are communicated and implemented in a consistent manner, including FLRA, Activity Reviews, Hazard Analysis, SWP’s, Activity Reviews, Accident/Incident Investigation & Reporting, Monthly Safety Meetings & Inspections, Due Diligence, etc.
Training and Development
- Ensure all tire bay personnel are trained to the Elkview tire program standard with the customer technicians.
- Demonstrate the AIMS, provide visible leadership, interact with tire bay personnel on a regular basis to provide coaching and mentoring.
Communication
- Actively engage with your team and your customer personnel at various levels. Participate in scheduled customer meetings and work towards forming a strong relationship built on value, trust and striving to achieve mutual objectives.

- Coach and mentor your team to deliver safe, professional, efficient service.
- Ensure that all aspects of Kal Tire and Glencore operational standards are adhered to.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Policies & Procedures
- Take all reasonable measures to ensure compliance with relevant company, customer or governmental policies & procedures.
Technology
- Understand and utilize tire management software such as TOMS, TPMS systems, Tiresight that supports a cutting-edge autonomous haulage fleet. A proactive approach to identify trends in performance through detailed reporting and analysis.
- Ensure adequate inventory is on hand or readily available to meet the needs of the customer. Manage customer inventory within EVR systems.
Customer & Industry Knowledge
- Develop and maintain knowledge and documentation of the customer business with regards to fleet size, forecasting, operating hours, utilization, scrap average, mine plan, haul profile, future growth or reduction, etc.
Retread & Reporting
- Maintain and document a solid tire repair program through inspections, assessments, proactive repairs. Utilize retreading for support fleets as required to meet customer requirements.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience as an OTR Tire Technician “Level A” preferred.
- Previous Supervisory experience in the tire industry or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Acting Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate with soft skills to a wide range of people both verbally and written.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment to identify and resolve problems, under pressure.
- Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
- Experience in undertaking administrative work in an office environment.
- Motivated, self-starter who can find solutions.
- Ensure the best application of allocated and available resources.
- Understands safe methods of work procedures and safety performance measures.
- Understands tire failure causes and analysis.
- Understands the invoicing cycle and importance of deadlines, monthly data analysis, retrieval and tire management reporting.
- Understands the importance of tire maintenance plans being carried out safely to OTR standards for optimum performance and casing generation.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional certification and training are preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to comply with relevant insurance policies is required.
- TTKTW assessor qualification is preferred but not essential
- Competitive compensation package. The target compensation for this role is $95,000 to $110,000 per year based on experience.
