Productivity Services Technician

The Productivity Services Technician supports the implementation and delivery of technical studies and solutions for Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group Canadian business.

The role is hands on, involving significant travel to Canadian mine sites to perform technical studies, install and support Technical Systems (TPMS, PitCrew), and provide technical reports to the customers.

A key part of this role is setting the standard for service excellence within the industry and demonstrating the Kal Tire AIMS and our Culture of Safety.


  • Follow all safety standards
  • Liaise with Canadian Sales and Site Managers to support the sale and implementation of technologies
  • Perform weigh scale/volumetric scanner studies following existing work process
    • Organize, supervise, and deliver the set-up of the weigh scale studies in conjunction with customer personnel. This will involve levelling the scales and ensuring equipment is set up correctly to ensure successful studies
    • Provide input into the weigh scale/volumetric scanner work processes for continuous improvement
    • Collect weigh scale, volumetric scanning and/or digital images correctly every time
    • Perform work without incident to team or equipment
    • Ensure work plans (equipment setup and takedown) are met and issues communicated in a timely manner
    • Always provide the correct and safe use of scale/scanning computer and equipment
    • Contribute to the smooth operations of the Kal Tire mobile weigh scales
    • Participate in the scheduling of weigh scale services and logistics to transport the equipment
    • Arrange for or perform service and maintenance of the Kal Tire Scales, tools and trailer as required
  • Provide support and service of Technical Systems (TPMS, PitCrew) at mine locations that Kal Tire is supporting.
    • Liaise and plan with the customer the implementation of Technical Systems onto customer equipment or customer site
    • This may include installation, troubleshooting and training of both customer personnel and Kal Tire personnel
    • Ensure Technical Systems are operating to agreed metrics through ongoing customer contact and surveillance of system interfaces
  • Perform accelerometer studies at mine locations that Kal Tire is supporting
    • Ensuring the proper setup of equipment to capture the data
    • Analyze the data using the accepted analysis tool
    • Create final customer reports
  • Liaise with the Productivity Services team lead to ensure Kal Tire resources are allocated smoothly to support studies
  • Maintain and manage accurate data records of data gathered from technical studies
  • Support the development of reports that demonstrate the value of Productivity Services in enhancing customer productivity, tire performance or in reducing truck downtime


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an industrial/engineering environment
  • Experience working on mine site preferred but not essential
  • Experience working in an environment where safety is a key part of daily operations
  • Experience working in roles where independent decision making is required


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to navigate computer applications
  • Able to use Microsoft Office products to create and edit files and reports
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative
  • Effective time management skills
  • Able to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses and certificates as required
  • Able to perform mechanically related tasks
  • Able to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner
  • Able to work with provided computer hardware/software for data collection and reporting


  • Post-secondary education in applicable field; preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.


  • Experience of coordinating work tasks for customers and colleagues
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other analysis tools
  • Working understanding of TCP/IP and Wi-Fi networks
