Zone Manager
Description
- Drives results and is responsible for performance of all stores within the zone relating to sales, safety, and culture.
- Collaborates with Regional Director to develop a zone plan; works with Store Managers to align store budgets and plans with the zone and region and establish key performance metrics.
- Maintains an active in-store leadership presence for the zone model store, responsible for continuous improvement of the stores within the zone with overall accountability for results in the zone.
- Creates a shared understanding of operational excellence across the zone through visible leadership and ensures accountability to and alignment with Kal Tire Way operational behaviours.
- Assesses performance in the zone through on-site observations. Develops insights through data-driven analysis of financial, operational, and team member engagement reporting. Coaches for improvement and mentors store management teams in these practices.
- Analyzes Profit and Loss statements for the zone and implements strategies to grow sales and improve profitability.
- Engages with the Regional Director to validate sales plans and supports the sales strategy and programs.
- Leads change and continuous improvement initiatives in the zone; supports Store Managers to implement, ensure adoption and manage resistance.
- Promotes understanding of the vision for Kal Tire and Store Operations; ensures alignment between the region, zone, and individual stores.
- Builds a diverse and inclusive team by continually developing management talent to improve managerial performance at store locations.
- Promotes a culture of accountability for safety and customer satisfaction across the zone.
- Provides onsite location support based on specific needs.
- Experience in operations management in a multi-store environment and/or oversight of a model location for a minimum of three to five (3-5) years.
- People management including but not limited to recruiting, managing, and accessing performance, supporting career development, identifying growth potential, driving engagement.
- Leadership skills in safety and knowledge of human resources best practices, business finance and accounting.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, planning and organizational skills.
- Strong people management, effective communication, and change leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple store locations and manage profit and loss across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve customer service and sales targets and collaborate across business functions to achieve expected results.
- Demonstrated ability to create and sustain culture change to ensure accountability for operational excellence, present data and explain strategies and ideas to upper management, manage multiple and complex initiatives and issues, and develop teams.
- College or university diploma or degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Regular travel to various stores will be part of this role, up to 80% travel within zone expected.
- Flexibility to relocate if and when required.
- The ability to travel, including short notice, for extended periods of time may be required.
- The target compensation for this role is $106,417 - $112,051 per year based on experience.
