Credit Representative

The Credit Representative is responsible for evaluating and monitoring an assigned portfolio of new and existing credit files with the goal of maximizing revenue and liquidity, while minimizing bad debt expense. This will involve conducting formal credit reviews for both new and existing credit within the established Levels of Authority. The Credit Representative will be involved in establishing agreed upon terms of trade for customers in conjunction with Sales Management. The Credit Representative, Salespeople and the Credit Analyst will work together to ensure adherence to the Credit Policy and will collaborate to make sound judgments regarding customer sales and credit decisions.


Credit File Adjudication

  • Evaluate customer credit worthiness by use of internal and external credit reports
  • Make credit recommendations within established guidelines
  • Properly utilize Credit Tools and Technology
  • Ensure compliance to credit policy and code of ethics

Credit Portfolio Maintenance

  • Conduct periodic review of customer base and adjust customer credit limits as needed
  • Develop an understanding on how to gauge adverse trends in their portfolio
  • Manage credit hold/releases according to established LOA systems and configuration settings
  • Foster a professional collaborative relationship with internal and external customers to resolve matters that impact billings, receivables and liquidity

Credit Knowledge Development

  • On a continuous basis, train with the Credit Analyst to develop a sound knowledge in reading and understanding financial summaries
  • Stay current in all aspects of evaluating and setting credit limits


  • 1+ years general business or financial experience


  • Proficient use of MS Office suite (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced/multi-task environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great customer service
  • Bilingual in French would be an asset


  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Willing to obtain CPP designation


  • Valid driver’s license
  • May involve occasional travel


Must be consistently able to demonstrate the Kal Tire AIMS.
