We are seeking a self-motivated analytical chemist to join our rapidly growing companyReporting to Sr. Director of Analytical Development, this person will work as an internal expert on material characterization of various dosage forms and will have opportunity to work closely with other functional groups in the company and external CROs and CMOs. The role will be key for characterizing structure and composition of complicated oligosaccharides and using research results to influence scientific and strategic direction of development projects. 


This position requires collaborative skills, multi-tasking ability, and desire to strive in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate will bring a deep technical understanding of characterization methods of oligosaccharides or polymeric compounds, along with novel knowledge in this field.  Previous experience with method development, method transfer and validation in cGMP-compliant environment are highly desired. 


Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate qualitative and quantitative analytical results to support the internal and external development for multiple projects.
  • Develop novel and robust analytical methods to characterize oligosaccharides.
  • Author and manage technical protocols, reports, SOPs, and maintain clear laboratory notebooks.
  • Work closely with external CROs and CMOs in method transfer and validation. Review/draft analytical development/validation and characterization sections for regulatory submissions in collaboration with other teams.
  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory instruments.
  • Tutor junior scientists in daily operation.



  • Ph.D. in analytical or physical organic chemistry.
  • Knowledge of multiple types of analytical and chromatographic separation techniques, such as HPLC, LC-MS, and GC-MS, are highly desired.
  • Previous experience on characterizing oligosaccharides or polymeric compounds using 2D NMR or MS will be strongly preferred.
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment and driving internal and external collaborations on multiple projects.
  • Ability to follow cGMP requirements, keep detailed records, and competently peer-review analytical data and results.
  • Competency with common laboratory operations, including accurate weighing, dilution, pH measurement, UV assay and similar techniques.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Experience with ChemStation or Empower.
