Job Summary

KAI Partners is looking for a dynamic, motivated, client-focused Cloud Migration Specialist. Under the direction of our Service Delivery Director, the Cloud Migration Specialist will assist in the implementation of transitioning on-premises servers to a Cloud-based tool (Azure). This role is responsible for analyzing data generated through the implementation of cloud and server systems. It requires an understanding of data-processing problems to identify and develop solutions. A Cloud Migration Specialist uses discretionary judgment within known parameters to install, maintain, and support basic to moderately complex systems using cloud technologies and principles.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on cloud services, automation, and security (Focused on Azure)
  • Install operating system software, patches, and upgrades within a cloud environment
  • Migrates on-prem systems to a cloud platform in a manner that optimizes the use of cloud technologies and computing (not simply lift-and-shift)
  • Analyze current on-prem infrastructure and existing applications and identify which systems will be migrated and which systems require retirement, refactoring, replacement, and / or rehosting
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve instance, software, and network-related cloud issues
  • Identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information through analysis of project-related data for the development of project deliverables
  • Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems
  • Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs the project is to address
  • Serve as a technical resource to clients during the implementation and ongoing maintenance of cloud-related technologies and computing
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience
  • More than 3 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Experience in implementing Azure tools
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience with moving operational responsibilities from one organization to another
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to evaluate complex problems and identify solutions with problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent work-management and organizational skills
  • Experience in transitioning on-premises systems and servers to cloud-based programs
  • Experience in planning implementation process related to IT services
