Description

The Deployment Support Specialist shall have expertise and experience in a variety of operations, logistics, administrative, and communications tasks which enable the customer to execute its mission to train, equip, advise and assist its customer. The Deployment Support Specialist is a non-deployable and non-Emergency-Essential member of the team with the focus of maintaining the garrison preparedness for a DoD customer to facilitate the team’s training, exercise and contingency operations deployments. 

Responsibilities:
Operations/Writing:
• Assist the leadership with drafting of reports: e.g., Situation Reports (SITREPs), Quarterly Training Briefings (QTBs), Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS)
• Maintain team internal calendar and access/permissions in conjunction with the Department’s short-range and long-range calendars.
• Assist the NCOIC with tracking and reporting internal training and readiness requirements.

Logistics:
• Facility management. Submit and track work orders, escort/coordinate on-site workers. Assist Security Manager and coordinate facility access. Synchronize all facility management efforts with Department Facility Manager.
• Shipping and Organizational Mail Manager and Coordinator. Function as an Alternate HazMat shipper for the TSG. Coordinate customs paperwork.
• Property Accountability and Management. Assists the military leadership with maintaining property accountability using the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS). Manage unassigned equipment and on-hand spares. Coordinates equipment transfers through the Department’s Logistics Section.
• Equipment and Vehicle Fleet Manager. Execute the vehicle maintenance program, manage gas cards/receipts and license plates. Coordinates maintenance efforts for vehicles, weapons, and night vision equipment. Assists in the maintenance of deployable equipment.

Administrative:
• Travel and Movement Coordinator. Assist military leadership in submitting country clearances, creating and tracking Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) submissions, complete Isolated Personnel Reports (ISOPREP).
• Assist in the coordination of travel arrangements and travel resources for the team.
• Perform functions as team correspondence manager
• Act as IT Work Group Administrator and Telephone Control Officer

Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Driver’s license for the location of employment.
• HazMat shipping qualified or capable of qualifying within 6 months.
• Proficient with computer software: Microsoft Windows/Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access)
• Experience with Air Force/U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) movement and transportation requirements.

Clearance:
• Current Secret Clearance.
