Berkshire Meadows is a residential facility for children and adults with severe intellectual disabilities and complex medical needs.

 Job Description:

This job requires you to provide support and direct care assistance to individuals with severe and profound developmental delays.  You will be helping the most kind and caring individuals with their daily routines.  In addition you will be assisting them with communication, choice making, social skills and relationship building.  Must have good organizational and communication skills.

Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, there are times where overtime may be mandated.


Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 ($1000 will be paid after 4 weeks of employment and another $1000 will be paid after 6 months.)

JRI provides the training so that:  

  • YOU will work directly with adults in our day rehabilitation program.
  • YOU will carry out specific activities for clients for learning and play as directed by the supervisor.
  • YOU will maintain cleanliness of the room.
  • YOU will help prepare instructional materials.
  • YOU will complete data collection sheets.
  • YOU will assist clients with daily activities, including meals and dressing.

Requirements: 

  • Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age and older. 
  • Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, both in speaking and writing.
  • Applicants must be able to speak and write in English (co-workers will help you). 
  • Applicants must be able to provide verification of employment authorization. 
  • Applicant with a valid driver’s license (MA, CT, or NY) are preferred.
  • Applicants with experience working with special needs populations are preferred.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
  • All new employees are required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
