Are you the Vocational Instructor we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with our youth!
Anchor Academy is a special education, therapeutic day school that serves school aged students between the ages of 10-22. Anchor Academy operates as an extended year, 11 month academic program, with an optional summer experience. Certified special education teachers provide students with a curriculum that prepares students for high school graduation and transition to post-secondary education, career or vocational training. Our staff promote a transformational learning experience for students who require alternative pathways for educational and emotional success and growth.
JRI provides the training so that:
- YOU will provide support and guidance to students developing and strengthening their pre-vocational and vocational/job skills.
- YOU will facilitate in-person and remote vocational classes.
- YOU will work with students in a clinically appropriate manner while maintaining a challenging learning environment.
- YOU will model trauma informed care through the ARC treatment philosophy throughout the school.
- YOU will use an interdisciplinary approach working collaboratively with the educational, clinical, nursing, and vocational departments.
Bilingual a plus!! We offer a $1,000 bilingual bonus to any candidate who speaks, reads and writes in a different language other than English.

Requirements:
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates with a Massachusetts certification in moderate disabilities or who are working towards certification by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education are preferred.
- Candidates with experience working with students in a therapeutic school setting are preferred.
- Candidates should have knowledge of the needs of the population served and understand the range of interventions and treatment required by this population.
- Candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to interact with students, families, and collaterals in a positive manner.
- Candidates should have leadership abilities, be able to work alone in an unsupervised environment, and have the capacity to serve as a responsible, mature, and flexible role model.
- At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
