Garden Trading – Warehouse Operator

Our warehouse operates a 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, Monday – Friday. Candidates applying must show flexibility and be open to weekend working, either ad-hoc to meet demand or in the future as the business expands, so will its operational format.

 

As a Warehouse Operator you will:

  • Support the overall shift performance with adherence to Health & Safety and performance targets
  • Undertake the tasks that are required to support the shift’s activities including, but not limited to, loading/unloading, putaway, breakdown of pallets, stock checks, picking, packing and dispatch - subject to training and certification where required
  • Ensure stock and pick accuracy is maintained at all times and reporting is accurate and timely
  • Monitor quality of stock being put away, picked or packed, and follow the QC process if any damage or issues found
  • Support the end-to-end operation in optimising efficiency and continuously seeking ways to improve the customer experience, improve safety & efficiency and reduce cost
  • Ensure accurate records are always maintained for all requirements including training, compliance and Health & Safety
  • Support regular stock takes, including annual warehouse shutdown and year-end count
  • Support the Shift Team to deliver against all targets and embed a ‘customer first’ focus to deliver exceptional customer service always
  • Support positive motivation of colleagues, by being engage member of a high-performing team
  • Open to self-improvement with feedback from performance reviews with shift team, including KPIs measuring throughput, service level and efficiency
  • Input to team improvement planning, ensuring we’re all always working smarter, for a better customer experience and a happy, efficient team

What we are looking for:

  • Reliable individual that works effectively both by themselves and as part of a team
  • Resilient and confident individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment with high expectations
  • Preferentially an experienced operator within operations that has a strong focus on Customer Service
  • Demonstrates logical thinking, sound judgement and effective communication at all levels
  • Good numeracy, with ability to read reports and to utilise data to make decisions
  • Good understanding of the need to accurately record data
  • Good understanding of the operational processes and IT systems
  • Advocate for Health and Safety and actively engaged in building a better working environment
  • An awareness and interest in continuous improvement, preferentially with knowledge of tools and techniques
