Benefits Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Builds strong relationships with plan providers, ensuring the successful transmission/receipt of vendor interface files and necessary correction action for records with errors.
- As the primary point of contact for complex escalated benefit issues, responds to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and increase employee engagement.
- Assists in the design and execution of controls to ensure process oversight (e.g., review of vendor reporting, reconciliation of claims and payment data, reports on processes for audit purposes, etc.).
- Responsible for ensuring program compliance (e.g., nondiscrimination testing, ACA reporting, etc.).
- Assists in the project management of annual enrollment; review enrollment materials, execute user-acceptance testing, validate upload of election data for the new plan year.
- Takes the lead on various change management initiatives (e.g., benefits integration activities resulting from M&A activities, plan design and process change implementations, etc.).
- Participate in the design and implementation of new benefit programs.
- Ensures all activities are performed in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct
- Bachelor’s Degree (Human Resources, Finance, Business Operations or related field preferred).
2 to 4 years of Human Resources generalist and/or benefits administration experience. - Must be able to effectively interact with internal and external customers, vendors and consultants.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office products, emphasis on advanced Excel skills.
- Proactive, highly driven and self-directed. Able to quickly adapt and prioritize activities and self-manage work focus and time for optimum results.
- Ability to establish a project plan and effectively manage internal resources and third-parties/vendors.
- Superior analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate persuasively and deliver a clear and concise message (written and verbal).
- Strong commitment to professional development, to include pursuing professional designations (e.g., SPHR, PHR, CEBS, CBP, etc.).
