Position Title: JBS Live Pork Gilt Flow Production Manager

Job Status: Salaried

Direct Reports: 4-5

Department/Location of Position: Remote Positon - The service area is Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas geographical locations. The applicant should centrally reside in the service area.       

Principle Responsibilities: 

  • Manage gilt availability and transport schedules.
  • Manage gilt weights at entry into sow farms.
  • Managing barn sizes and locations to match up with pig flow projections
  • Projecting movements by weight and days of age
  • Direct the biosecurity and facility oversight on gilt grow outs.
  • Oversee gilt selection training and criteria.
  • Managing pig flow using projections from Sow farms to determine space needs and timing
  • Working with vet team to monitor health and vaccination requirements for different geographies and flows
  • Manage and communicate sudden change related to pig flow and animal marketing 
  • Provide technical direction and education and training for all items related to the flow and marketing of pigs.
  • Identify and lead change on process improvement opportunities that relate to pig flow and animal marketing.
  • Any additional duties assigned by manager. 
  • Approve producer/grower payments.

 

Required: 

  • BS/BA Animal Science or equivalent degree, or 5 years’ equivalent experience in swine production
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Possess Problem Solving Techniques
  • Demonstrates knowledge of overall business strategy and operations
  • Possesses proficiency in spreadsheet, database, word processing software
  • Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+lbs  
  • The applicant should centrally reside in the service area of Arkansas, Missouri, and Iowa. 

 

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

Travel: 25% - 40% (Dependent on residence location within region)
