Breeder Manager in Training
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This is a training position with the intent of training a qualified candidate for a full time breeder manager position. This position will train a qualified candidate to be able to direct and coordinate breeder operations to ensure the delivery of a quality product. Duties include training in scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of work as a Manager (or equivalent) over Breeder Service Techs. This is a training program designed to train a future breeder manager to be placed in an open position within the company.
Candidates will be trained in the following areas:
- Directing the day-to-day breeder operations to ensure the required quantity and quality of hatch eggs are available for hatcheries.
- Implementing and monitoring all pullet and breeder production programs.
- Providing communication and direction for all contract pullet and breeder producers.
- Monitoring the development of all contract pullet and breeder producers as well as the development of the pullet placements, moves, vaccinations, and sales to ensure proper hatch egg numbers.
- Providing performance and cost numbers to accounting and upper management.
- Monitoring pullet and breeder flock health and adherence to blood testing procedures.
- Monitoring and promoting driver safety with all service people.

BASIC SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of breeder related experience is preferred but not required
- Computer skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- SAP experience preferred.
- Mtech experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, holidays and weekends as needed.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
